Renee and Leonie Vorenkamp are sisters who recently assumed charge over an outdated campsite in Gieten, Drenthe. They plan to renovate the park, which currently consists of small cottages and tent pitches. In order to do so, their idea was to add several new accommodations over time, to steadily increase the amount of year round rental space on the campsite.

The first idea they had in mind was a treehouse that could accommodate a varying amount of guests. Due to this request and the number of trees on the site, this led to the design of several smaller treehouses connected to a communal space. The accommodations are not constructed within the trees but instead are put on wooden poles in between. This is done to prevent damage to the trees and ensure solid stationary foundations for the 'treehouses'. The different rooms are connected by rope bridges. The luggage can be brought up using a simple lifting system on the main deck. Deppending on the amount of guests, the group can be divided over the separate treehouses or stay in the main treehouse together.

This treehouse village is meant as a showpiece for the campsite and is located in the center of the grounds. Unfortunately due to issues related to the building permits, the realization of the treehouses is delayed until fall 2023.
